I will not speak with you much longer, ¹  for the ruler of this world is coming. ²  He has no power over me, ³ 

Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spirit ¹  will receive from me what is mine ²  and will tell it to you. ³ 

Now we know that you know everything ¹  and do not need anyone ²  to ask you anything. ³  Because of this ⁴  we believe that you have come from God.”

And now, Father, glorify me at your side ¹  with the glory I had with you before the world was created. ² 

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

The Jewish leaders ¹  replied, ²  “We have a law, ³  and according to our law he ought to die, because he claimed to be the Son of God!” ⁴ 

praising God and having the good will ¹  of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day ²  those who were being saved.

For unclean spirits, ¹  crying with loud shrieks, were coming out of many who were possessed, ²  and many paralyzed and lame people were healed.

But they said to her, “You’ve lost your mind!” ¹  But she kept insisting that it was Peter, ²  and they kept saying, ³  “It is his angel!” ⁴ 

When ¹  they arrived ²  in Salamis, ³  they began to proclaim ⁴  the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. ⁵  (Now they also had John ⁶  as their assistant.) ⁷ 

This man was listening to Paul as he was speaking. When Paul ¹  stared ²  intently at him and saw he had faith to be healed,

For Moses has had those who proclaim him in every town from ancient times, ¹  because he is read aloud ²  in the synagogues ³  every Sabbath.”

If then Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a complaint ¹  against someone, the courts are open ²  and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another there. ³ 

We set sail ¹  from there, and on the following day we arrived off Chios. ²  The next day we approached ³  Samos, ⁴  and the day after that we arrived at Miletus. ⁵ 

Paul called ¹  one of the centurions ²  and said, “Take this young man to the commanding officer, ³  for he has something to report to him.”

The commanding officer ¹  took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked, “What is it that you want ²  to report to me?”

I have ¹  a hope in God (a hope ²  that ³  these men ⁴  themselves accept too) that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. ⁵ 

Rather they had several points of disagreement ¹  with him about their own religion ²  and about a man named Jesus ³  who was dead, whom Paul claimed ⁴  to be alive.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, ¹  God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done. ² 

through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice ¹  in the hope of God’s glory.
