You will be convinced ¹  that I the Lord am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem ²  will be holy – conquering armies ³  will no longer pass through it.

Moreover, the Lord who rules over all says, ‘Old men and women will once more live in the plazas of Jerusalem, each one leaning on a cane because of advanced age.

Remain ¹  in me, and I will remain in you. ²  Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, ³  unless it remains ⁴  in ⁵  the vine, so neither can you unless you remain ⁶  in me.

saying, “What should we do with these men? For it is plain ¹  to all who live in Jerusalem that a notable miraculous sign ²  has come about through them, ³  and we cannot deny it.

Then he went out from the country of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God ¹  made him move ²  to this country where you now live.

From one man ¹  he made every nation of the human race ²  to inhabit the entire earth, ³  determining their set times ⁴  and the fixed limits of the places where they would live, ⁵ 

Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as the weaker partners ¹  and show them honor as fellow heirs of the grace of life. In this way nothing will hinder your prayers. ² 

For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve ¹  him day and night in his temple, and the one seated on the throne will shelter them. ² 

When you eat your fill, when you build and occupy good houses,

They settled down in it and built in it a temple ¹  to honor you, ²  saying,

Also in those days I saw the men of Judah who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab.

When the earth and all its inhabitants dissolve in fear, ¹  I make its pillars secure.” ²  (Selah)

He led them on a level road, ¹  that they might find a city in which to live.

He makes the barren woman of the family ¹  a happy mother of children. ²  Praise the Lord!

A song of ascents. ²  I look up ³  toward you, the one enthroned ⁴  in heaven.

The violence ¹  done by the wicked ²  will drag them away because ³  they refuse to do what is right. ⁴ 

They will build houses and live in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

Before Jeremiah could turn to leave, the captain of the guard added, “Go back ¹  to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed to govern ²  the towns of Judah. Go back and live with him ³  among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

The one who eats ¹  my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him. ² 

If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, ¹  we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
