“The Lord has told you people who remain in Judah, ‘Do not go to Egypt.’ Be very sure of this: I warn you ¹  here and now. ² 

The people of Gaza will shave their heads in mourning. The people of Ashkelon will be struck dumb. How long will you gash yourselves to show your sorrow, ¹  you who remain of Philistia’s power? ² 

Then, when my sanctuary is among them forever, the nations will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel.’” ¹ 

When the army is taken away, the king of the south will become arrogant. ¹  He will be responsible for the death ²  of thousands and thousands of people, ³  but he will not continue to prevail.

He said, “Go, Daniel. For these matters are closed and sealed until the time of the end.

You should not have stood at the fork in the road ¹  to slaughter ²  those trying to escape. ³  You should not have captured their refugees when they suffered adversity. ⁴ 

And if a peace-loving person ¹  is there, your peace will remain on him, but if not, it will return to you. ² 

but they urged him, ¹  “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So ²  he went in to stay with them.

And look, I am sending you ¹  what my Father promised. ²  But stay in the city ³  until you have been clothed with power ⁴  from on high.”

Jesus replied, ¹  “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, ²  but now because you claim that you can see, ³  your guilt ⁴  remains.” ⁵ 

So he gave orders to have them baptized ¹  in the name of Jesus Christ. ²  Then they asked him to stay for several days.

In regard to the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but in regard to election they are dearly loved for the sake of the fathers.

Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

the women ¹  should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak. ²  Rather, let them be in submission, as in fact the law says.

and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you can send me on my journey, wherever I go.

I do not say this to condemn you, for I told you before ¹  that you are in our hearts so that we die together and live together with you. ² 

For the hidden power of lawlessness ¹  is already at work. However, the one who holds him back ²  will do so until he is taken out of the way,

You, however, must continue ¹  in the things you have learned and are confident about. You know ²  who taught you ³ 

Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers.

By this ¹  we know that we reside in God ²  and he in us: in that he has given us of his Spirit. ³
