They ¹  all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.

Then Jesus came up and said to them, ¹  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Now ¹  as soon as they left the synagogue, ²  they entered Simon and Andrew’s house, with James and John.

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea and he was alone on the land.

Everyone ¹  ate and was satisfied, and they picked up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.

He spoke openly about this. So ¹  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

So ¹  they went and found a colt tied at a door, outside in the street, and untied it.

In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

Then ¹  Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands. ² 

like the accounts ¹  passed on ²  to us by those who were eyewitnesses and servants of the word ³  from the beginning. ⁴ 

They all ate and were satisfied, and what was left over ¹  was picked up – twelve baskets of broken pieces.

Then ¹  the seventy-two ²  returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to ³  us in your name!” ⁴ 

So ¹  they began to question one another as to which of them it could possibly be who would do this.

So ¹  they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” ²  Then he told them, “It is enough.” ³ 

When ¹  those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, “Lord, should ²  we use our swords?” ³ 

Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two disciples who heard what John said ¹  and followed Jesus. ² 

They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem. ¹  Jesus was going ahead of them, and they were amazed, but those who followed were afraid. He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them what was going to happen to him.

Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them as follows: ¹  “Do not go to Gentile regions ²  and do not enter any Samaritan town. ³ 

Meanwhile the boat, already far from land, ¹  was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it.
