if you become ¹  pure ²  and upright, ³  even now he will rouse himself ⁴  for you, and will restore ⁵  your righteous abode. ⁶ 

I will tell about your justice, and all day long proclaim your salvation, ¹  though I cannot fathom its full extent. ² 

For no one is declared righteous before him ¹  by the works of the law, ²  for through the law comes ³  the knowledge of sin.

This was ¹  also to demonstrate ²  his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just ³  and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness. ⁴ 

You are witnesses, and so is God, as to how holy and righteous and blameless our conduct was toward you who believe.

but of ¹  the Son he says, ²  “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, ³  and a righteous scepter ⁴  is the scepter of your kingdom.

So Pharaoh sent and summoned Moses and Aaron and said to them, “I have sinned this time! ¹  The Lord is righteous, and I and my people are guilty. ² 

May those who desire my vindication shout for joy and rejoice! May they continually say, ¹  “May the Lord be praised, ²  for he wants his servant to be secure.” ³ 

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! ¹  I strengthen you – yes, I help you – yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand! ² 

Who is wise? Let him discern ¹  these things! Who is discerning? Let him understand them! For the ways of the Lord are right; the godly walk in them, but in them the rebellious stumble.

so that you may be like ¹  your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Although they fully know ¹  God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, ²  they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them. ³ 

So indeed it was credited to Abraham ¹  as righteousness.

Now Abimelech had not gone near her. He said, “Lord, ¹  would you really slaughter an innocent nation? ² 

“Truly, ¹  I know that this is so. But how ²  can a human ³  be just before ⁴  God? ⁵ 

Although I am innocent, ¹  my mouth ²  would condemn me; ³  although I am blameless, it would declare me perverse. ⁴ 

There ¹  an upright person could present his case ²  before him, and I would be delivered forever from my judge.

Would you indeed annul ¹  my justice? Would you declare me guilty so that you might be right?

For you defended my just cause; ¹  from your throne you pronounced a just decision. ² 

Are your amazing deeds experienced ¹  in the dark region, ²  or your deliverance in the land of oblivion? ³
