No one will take any food to those who mourn for the dead to comfort them. No one will give them any wine to drink to console them for the loss of their father or mother.

ס (Samek) He rounded up ¹  all my mighty ones; ²  The Lord ³  did this ⁴  in ⁵  my midst. He summoned an assembly ⁶  against me to shatter my young men. The Lord has stomped like grapes ⁷  the virgin daughter, Judah. ⁸

So they brought the gold and silver ¹  vessels that had been confiscated from the temple, the house of God ²  in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, together with his wives and concubines, drank from them.

Pharaoh was enraged with his two officials, ¹  the cupbearer and the baker,

He restored the chief cupbearer to his former position ¹  so that he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand,

Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “Today I recall my failures. ¹ 

Lord, you give me stability and prosperity; ¹  you make my future secure. ² 

They swayed ¹  and staggered like a drunk, and all their skill proved ineffective. ² 

For ¹  I am like a wineskin ²  dried up in smoke. ³  I do not forget your statutes.

Sustain ¹  me with raisin cakes, ²  refresh me with apples, ³  for I am faint with love. ⁴  The Double Refrain: Embracing and Adjuration

Surely they will be totally consumed ¹  like ²  entangled thorn bushes, ³  like the drink of drunkards, ⁴  like very ⁵  dry stubble.

You too will act like drunkards; ¹  you will go into hiding; ²  you too will seek refuge from the enemy.
