Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners ¹  of the earth.

Can you lead out the constellations ¹  in their seasons, or guide the Bear with its cubs? ² 

(Who has confronted ¹  me that I should repay? ²  Everything under heaven belongs to me!) ³ 

It looks on every haughty being; it is king over all that are proud.” ¹ 

Do not be so certain you have won! ¹  Do not speak with your head held so high! ² 

A psalm of Asaph. God stands in ²  the assembly of El; ³  in the midst of the gods ⁴  he renders judgment. ⁵ 

it will remain stable, like the moon, ¹  his throne will endure like the skies.” ²  (Selah)

If I were to ascend ¹  to heaven, you would be there. If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be. ² 

On that day there will be no light – the sources of light in the heavens will congeal. ¹ 

And ¹  a voice from heaven said, ²  “This is my one dear Son; ³  in him ⁴  I take great delight.” ⁵ 

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son; ¹  in you I take great delight.” ² 

and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Therefore, brothers and sisters, ¹  since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

When you look up ¹  to the sky ²  and see the sun, moon, and stars – the whole heavenly creation ³  – you must not be seduced to worship and serve them, ⁴  for the Lord your God has assigned ⁵  them to all the people ⁶  of the world. ⁷ 

Cry out, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge his servants’ blood; he will take vengeance against his enemies, and make atonement for his land and people.

Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it out for herself on a rock. From the beginning of the harvest until the rain fell on them, ¹  she did not allow the birds of the air to feed ²  on them by day, nor the wild animals ³  by night.

He eliminated ¹  the pagan priests whom the kings of Judah had appointed to offer sacrifices ²  on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the area right around Jerusalem. (They offered sacrifices ³  to Baal, the sun god, the moon god, the constellations, and all the stars in the sky.)

But if you repent ¹  and obey ²  my commandments and do them, then even if your dispersed people are in the most remote location, ³  I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen for my name to reside.’

I said, ¹  “I will weep and mourn ²  for the grasslands on the mountains, ³  I will sing a mournful song for the pastures in the wilderness because they are so scorched no one travels through them. The sound of livestock is no longer heard there. Even the birds in the sky and the wild animals in the fields have fled and are gone.”

I will leave you in the wilderness, you and all the fish of your waterways; you will fall in the open field and will not be gathered up or collected. ¹  I have given you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the skies.
