Reach down ¹  from above! Grab me and rescue me from the surging water, ²  from the power of foreigners, ³ 

Do not let truth and mercy ¹  leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. ² 

His legs are like pillars of marble set on bases of pure gold. His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as its cedars.

Those who see you stare at you, they look at you carefully, thinking: ¹  “Is this the man who shook the earth, the one who made kingdoms tremble?

At that time ¹  the deaf will be able to hear words read from a scroll, and the eyes of the blind will be able to see through deep darkness. ²
