make their descendants ¹  die ²  among the nations, and scatter them among foreign lands. ³ 

Your statutes have been my songs ¹  in the house where I live. ² 

“Proclaim ¹  this message among the descendants of Jacob. ²  Make it known throughout Judah.

He repeatedly ¹  attacks me, he turns his hand ²  against me all day long. ³ 

They raped ¹  women in Zion, virgins in the towns of Judah.

For who dares make light of small beginnings? These seven eyes ¹  will joyfully look on the tin tablet ²  in Zerubbabel’s hand. (These are the eyes of the Lord, which constantly range across the whole earth.)

Then ¹  Jesus ²  traveled throughout ³  towns ⁴  and villages, teaching and making his way toward ⁵  Jerusalem. ⁶ 

“You are the ones who have remained ¹  with me in my trials.

And the disciples were filled with joy ¹  and with the Holy Spirit.

When they read it aloud, ¹  the people ²  rejoiced at its encouragement. ³ 

He passed through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening ¹  the churches.

When all this was over, the Israelites ¹  who were in the cities of Judah went out and smashed the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and demolished ²  all the high places and altars throughout Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. ³  Then all the Israelites returned to their own homes in their cities. ⁴ 

Pharaoh should do ¹  this – he should appoint ²  officials ³  throughout the land to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt ⁴  during the seven years of abundance.

Then the seven years of famine began, ¹  just as Joseph had predicted. There was famine in all the other lands, but throughout the land of Egypt there was food.

When all the land of Egypt experienced the famine, the people cried out to Pharaoh for food. Pharaoh said to all the people of Egypt, ¹  “Go to Joseph and do whatever he tells you.”

While the famine was over all the earth, ¹  Joseph opened the storehouses ²  and sold grain to the Egyptians. The famine was severe throughout the land of Egypt.

So now, it is not you who sent me here, but God. He has made me an adviser ¹  to Pharaoh, lord over all his household, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

So Joseph made it a statute, ¹  which is in effect ²  to this day throughout the land of Egypt: One-fifth belongs to Pharaoh. Only the land of the priests did not become Pharaoh’s.

The length of the courtyard is to be one hundred fifty feet ¹  and the width seventy-five feet, ²  and the height of the fine twisted linen hangings ³  is to be ⁴  seven and a half feet, with their bronze bases.

In this manner you must offer daily throughout the seven days the food of the sacrifice made by fire as a sweet aroma to the Lord. It is to be offered in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.
