From the fruit of a person’s mouth ¹  his stomach is satisfied, ²  with the product of his lips is he satisfied.

Whoever shares with a thief ¹  is his own enemy; ²  he hears the oath to testify, ³  but does not talk.

Who is the Lord ¹  trying to teach? To whom is he explaining a message? ²  Those just weaned from milk! Those just taken from their mother’s breast! ³ 

Your claim to have a strategy and military strength is just empty talk. ¹  In whom are you trusting, that you would dare to rebel against me?

Indeed, they live in the holy city; ¹  they trust in ²  the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord who commands armies.

For you are not being sent to a people of unintelligible speech ¹  and difficult language, ²  but ³  to the house of Israel –

Then a wind ¹  came into me and stood me on my feet. The Lord ²  spoke to me and said, “Go shut yourself in your house.

Then with smooth words he will defile ¹  those who have rejected ²  the covenant. But the people who are loyal to ³  their God will act valiantly. ⁴ 

They ¹  utter empty words, ²  taking ³  false oaths and making empty ⁴  agreements. Therefore legal disputes sprout up like poisonous weeds ⁵  in the furrows of a plowed field.

Seek good and not evil so you can live! Then the Lord, the God who commands armies, just might be with you, as you claim he is.

“I have heard Moab’s taunts and the Ammonites’ insults. They ¹  taunted my people and verbally harassed those living in Judah. ² 

But I say to you, do not take oaths at all – not by heaven, because it is the throne of God,

After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”

Therefore pay attention to what they tell you and do it. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they teach. ¹ 

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come. ¹ 

So ¹  he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis ²  what Jesus had done for him, ³  and all were amazed.

They brought to him a deaf man who had difficulty speaking, and they asked him to place his hands on him.

A member of the crowd said to him, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. ¹ 

Then ¹  they went out and ran from the tomb, for terror and bewilderment had seized them. ²  And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
