And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches ¹  in Christ Jesus.

But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

And tell Archippus, “See to it that you complete the ministry you received in the Lord.”

For the appeal we make ¹  does not come ²  from error or impurity or with deceit,

I call on you solemnly in the Lord ¹  to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters. ² 

This saying ¹  is trustworthy: “If someone aspires to the office of overseer, ²  he desires a good work.”

You know that everyone in the province of Asia ¹  deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.

When you come, bring with you the cloak I left in Troas with Carpas and the scrolls, especially the parchments.

Make every effort to help ¹  Zenas the lawyer ²  and Apollos on their way; make sure they have what they need. ³ 

And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer or thief or criminal or as a troublemaker. ¹ 

Make sure you are ¹  very strong and brave! Carefully obey ²  all the law my servant Moses charged you to keep! ³  Do not swerve from it to the right or to the left, so that you may be successful ⁴  in all you do. ⁵ 

But stay about three thousand feet behind it. ¹  Keep your distance ²  so you can see ³  which way you should go, for you have not traveled this way before.”

I will drive out before the Israelites all who live in the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, ¹  all the Sidonians; you be sure to parcel it out to Israel as I instructed you.” ² 

You must obey ¹  all I command you to do, follow my instructions, ²  do what I approve, ³  and keep my rules and commandments, like my servant David did. Then I will be with you and establish for you a lasting dynasty, as I did for David; ⁴  I will give you Israel.

Then Jehu and Jehonadab son of Rekab went to the temple of Baal. Jehu ¹  said to the servants of Baal, “Make sure there are no servants of the Lord here with you; there must be only servants of Baal.” ² 

For this reason it is by faith so that it may be by grace, ¹  with the result that the promise may be certain to all the descendants – not only to those who are under the law, but also to those who have the faith of Abraham, ²  who is the father of us all

Because of this, in fact, I suffer as I do. ¹  But I am not ashamed, because I know the one in whom my faith is set ²  and I am convinced that he is able to protect what has been entrusted to me ³  until that day. ⁴ 

and said, “‘I solemnly swear by my own name,’ ¹  decrees the Lord, ²  ‘that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
