until I find a place for the Lord, a fine dwelling place ¹  for the powerful ruler of Jacob.” ² 

The sound of their voices shook the door frames, ¹  and the temple was filled with smoke.

Hezekiah said, “What is the confirming sign that I will go up to the Lord’s temple?”

Our food has been cut off right before our eyes! ¹  There is no longer any joy or gladness in the temple of our God! ² 

Then the devil took him to the holy city, ¹  had him stand ²  on the highest point ³  of the temple,

An ¹  angel of the Lord, ²  standing on the right side of the altar of incense, appeared ³  to him.

You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor ¹  idols, do you rob temples?

In him ¹  the whole building, ²  being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

Then ¹  another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.

He must then slaughter ¹  the male lamb in the place where ²  the sin offering ³  and the burnt offering ⁴  are slaughtered, ⁵  in the sanctuary, because, like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest; ⁶  it is most holy.

But you and your sons with you are responsible for your priestly duties, for everything at the altar and within the curtain. And you must serve. I give you the priesthood as a gift for service; but the unauthorized person who approaches must be put to death.”

the pure gold bowls, trimming shears, basins, pans, and censers, and the gold door sockets for the inner sanctuary (the most holy place) and for the doors of the main hall of the temple.

When the priests enter, then they will not go out from the sanctuary to the outer court without taking off their garments in which they minister, for these are holy; they will put on other garments, then they will go near the places where the people are.”

“‘If what is vowed is a kind of animal from which an offering may be presented ¹  to the Lord, anything which he gives to the Lord from this kind of animal ²  will be holy.

When it reverts ¹  in the jubilee, the field will be holy to the Lord like a permanently dedicated field; ²  it will become the priest’s property. ³ 

No longer may the Israelites approach the tent of meeting, or else they will bear their sin ¹  and die.

Only the holy things and votive offerings that belong to you, you must pick up and take to the place the Lord will choose. ¹ 

They worshiped ¹  Micah’s carved image ²  the whole time God’s authorized shrine ³  was in Shiloh.

and the lamp of God had not yet been extinguished. Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord as well; the ark of God was also there.

These are the men David put in charge of music in the Lord’s sanctuary, ¹  after the ark was placed there.
