I spelled out my law for him in great detail, but they regard it as something totally unknown ¹  to them!

They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds ¹  regarded him as a prophet.

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation ²  will not pass away until all these things take place.

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus killed.

Then ¹  he called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation ²  will not pass away until all these things take place.

When ¹  they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. ² 

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus ¹  from one town after another, ²  he spoke to them ³  in a parable:

Now when Jesus returned, ¹  the crowd welcomed him, because they were all waiting for him.

But ¹  some of the Pharisees ²  in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” ³ 

When they heard these words, some of the crowd ¹  began to say, “This really ²  is the Prophet!” ³ 

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. ¹ 

When he said this, ¹  an argument ²  began ³  between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.

Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he captured ¹  captives; he gave gifts to men.” ² 

The Lord his God handed him over to the king of Syria. The Syrians ¹  defeated him and deported many captives to Damascus. ²  He was also handed over to the king of Israel, who thoroughly defeated him. ³ 

For the music director; a psalm of David, written when Nathan the prophet confronted him after David’s affair with Bathsheba. ²  Have mercy on me, O God, because of ³  your loyal love! Because of ⁴  your great compassion, wipe away my rebellious acts! ⁵ 

Indeed, this is what the Lord says to me: “The Lord will be like a growling lion, like a young lion growling over its prey. ¹  Though a whole group of shepherds gathers against it, it is not afraid of their shouts or intimidated by their yelling. ²  In this same way the Lord who commands armies will descend to do battle on Mount Zion and on its hill. ³ 

I will tell of the faithful acts of the Lord, of the Lord’s praiseworthy deeds. I will tell about all ¹  the Lord did for us, the many good things he did for the family of Israel, ²  because of ³  his compassion and great faithfulness.

Solomon left all these items unweighed; there were so many of them they did not weigh the bronze. ¹
