Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive ¹  him.”

There was also a widow ¹  in that city ²  who kept coming ³  to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’

But ¹  the twelve ²  understood none of these things. This ³  saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp ⁴  what Jesus meant. ⁵ 

But his citizens ¹  hated ²  him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man ³  to be king ⁴  over us!’

saying, “If you had only known on this day, ¹  even you, the things that make for peace! ²  But now they are hidden ³  from your eyes.

saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ ¹  but you have turned it into a den ²  of robbers!” ³ 

So ¹  they discussed it with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’

But they persisted ¹  in saying, “He incites ²  the people by teaching throughout all Judea. It started in Galilee and ended up here!” ³ 

One of the criminals who was hanging there railed at him, saying, “Aren’t ¹  you the Christ? ²  Save yourself and us!”

But the other rebuked him, saying, ¹  “Don’t ²  you fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? ³ 

So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture ¹  and the saying ²  that Jesus had spoken.

There was ¹  a lot of grumbling ²  about him among the crowds. ³  Some were saying, “He is a good man,” but others, “He deceives the common people.” ⁴ 

Yet here he is, speaking publicly, ¹  and they are saying nothing to him. ²  Do the rulers really know that this man ³  is the Christ? ⁴ 

What did he mean by saying, ¹  ‘You will look for me ²  but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come’?”

The Judeans ¹  replied, ²  “Aren’t we correct in saying ³  that you are a Samaritan and are possessed by a demon?” ⁴ 

Then the neighbors and the people who had seen him previously ¹  as a beggar began saying, ²  “Is this not the man ³  who used to sit and beg?”

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

And when she had said this, Martha ¹  went and called her sister Mary, saying privately, ²  “The Teacher is here and is asking for you.” ³ 

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

They brought forward false witnesses who said, “This man does not stop saying things against this holy place ¹  and the law. ²
