Moses summoned ¹  Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom ²  the Lord had put skill – everyone whose heart stirred him ³  to volunteer ⁴  to do the work,

Every grain offering which is baked in the oven or ¹  made in the pan ²  or on the griddle belongs to the priest who presented it.

“Every one ¹  of the Israelites must camp ²  under his standard with the emblems of his family; ³  they must camp at some distance ⁴  around the tent of meeting. ⁵ 

“Look, ¹  I myself have taken the Levites from among the Israelites instead of ²  every firstborn who opens the womb among the Israelites. So the Levites belong to me,

“Number the Levites by their clans ¹  and their families; every male from a month old and upward you are to number.” ² 

Counting every male from a month old and upward, there were 8,600. They were responsible for the care ¹  of the sanctuary.

“Command the Israelites to expel ¹  from the camp every leper, ²  everyone who has a discharge, ³  and whoever becomes defiled by a corpse. ⁴ 

They must not leave any of it until morning, nor break any of its bones; they must observe it in accordance with every statute of the Passover.

“‘Every native-born person must do these things in this way to present an offering made by fire as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

You must write Aaron’s name on the staff of Levi; for one staff is for the head of every tribe. ¹ 

You are to eat it as a most holy offering; every male may eat it. It will be holy to you.

From all your gifts you must offer up every raised offering due ¹  the Lord, from all the best of it, and the holiest part of it.’ ² 

So a thousand from every tribe, twelve thousand armed for battle in all, were provided out of the thousands of Israel.

but your servants will cross over, every man armed for war, to do battle in the Lord’s presence, just as my lord says.”

In this way the inheritance of the Israelites will not be transferred ¹  from tribe to tribe. But every one of the Israelites must retain the ancestral heritage.

No inheritance may pass from tribe to tribe. But every one of the tribes of the Israelites must retain its inheritance.”

At that time we seized all his cities and put every one of them ¹  under divine judgment, ²  including even the women and children; we left no survivors.

We put all of these under divine judgment ¹  just as we had done to King Sihon of Heshbon – every occupied city, ²  including women and children.

But you who remained faithful to the Lord your God are still alive to this very day, every one of you.

Every one of you must give as you are able, ¹  according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you.
