You must present a gift to the Lord for seven days, and the seventh day is a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.’”

You must count fifty days – until the day after the seventh Sabbath – and then ¹  you must present a new grain offering to the Lord.

“Tell the Israelites, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Temporary Shelters ¹  for seven days to the Lord.

“‘You must count off ¹  seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, ²  and the days of the seven weeks of years will amount to forty-nine years. ³ 

All the days of the desolation it will have the rest it did not have ¹  on your Sabbaths when you lived on it.

All the days of his separation he must not eat anything that is produced by the grapevine, from seed ¹  to skin. ² 

“‘Now this is the law of the Nazirite: When the days of his separation are fulfilled, he must be brought ¹  to the entrance of the tent of meeting,

When the cloud remained over the tabernacle many days, then the Israelites obeyed the instructions ¹  of the Lord and did not journey.

So Miriam was shut outside of the camp for seven days, and the people did not journey on until Miriam was brought back in. ¹ 

And on the fifteenth day of this month is the festival. For seven days bread made without yeast must be eaten.

In your distress when all these things happen to you in the latter days, ¹  if you return to the Lord your God and obey him ² 

Now at the end of the forty days and nights the Lord presented me with the two stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant.

I lay flat on the ground before the Lord for forty days and nights, ¹  for he ²  had said he would destroy you.

“During those days the Israelites traveled from Beeroth Bene-Yaaqan ¹  to Moserah. ²  There Aaron died and was buried, and his son Eleazar became priest in his place.

You will go to the Levitical priests and the judge in office in those days and seek a solution; they will render a verdict.

then both parties to the controversy must stand before the Lord, that is, before the priests and judges ¹  who will be in office in those days.

Remember the ancient days; bear in mind ¹  the years of past generations. ²  Ask your father and he will inform you, your elders, and they will tell you.

They marched around the city one time on the second day, then returned to the camp. They did this six days in all.

Three days after they made the treaty with them, the Israelites found out they were from the local area and lived nearby. ¹ 

Now the boy Samuel continued serving the Lord under Eli’s supervision. ¹  Word from the Lord was rare in those days; revelatory visions were infrequent.
