On that day the book of Moses was read aloud in the hearing ¹  of the people. They found ²  written in it that no Ammonite or Moabite may ever enter the assembly of God,

You said to yourself, ¹  “I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of El ²  I will set up my throne. I will rule on the mountain of assembly on the remote slopes of Zaphon. ³ 

(9:1) I wish I had a lodging place in the desert where I could spend some time like a weary traveler. ¹  Then I would desert my people and walk away from them because they are all unfaithful to God, a congregation ²  of people that has been disloyal to him. ³ 

The group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, ¹  and no one said that any of his possessions was his own, but everything was held in common. ² 

The ¹  proposal pleased the entire group, so ²  they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, with ³  Philip, ⁴  Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a Gentile convert to Judaism ⁵  from Antioch. ⁶ 

You are to kill the bull before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting

“On the first day of the first month you are to set up ¹  the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

You are to put the altar for the burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

And he put the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle.

And he put the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain,

Whenever they entered ¹  the tent of meeting, and whenever they approached ²  the altar, they would wash, ³  just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Then the high priest ¹  must bring some of the blood of the bull to the Meeting Tent,

Any person who eats any blood – that person will be cut off from his people.’” ¹ 

This is the service of the Kohathites in the tent of meeting, relating to the most holy things. ¹ 

Then Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and the plague was stopped.

You must place them ¹  in the tent of meeting before the ark of the covenant ²  where I meet with you.

They sent for him, ¹  and Jeroboam and the whole Israelite assembly came and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,

The whole assembly agreed to do this, ¹  for the proposal seemed right to all the people. ² 

So the soldiers released the captives and the plunder before the officials and the entire assembly.
