‘Surely our enemies ¹  are destroyed, and fire consumes their wealth.’

Smoke ascended from ¹  his nose; ²  fire devoured as it came from his mouth; ³  he hurled down fiery coals. ⁴ 

You crown the year with your good blessings, ¹  and you leave abundance in your wake. ² 

But then the Lord awoke from his sleep; ¹  he was like a warrior in a drunken rage. ² 

They ¹  reached up to the sky, then dropped into the depths. The sailors’ strength ²  left them ³  because the danger was so great. ⁴ 

Then he got up, took the child and his mother during ¹  the night, and went to Egypt.

So ¹  he got up and took the child and his mother and returned to the land of Israel.

He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then ¹  she got up and began to serve them.

And very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

But they all shouted out together, ¹  “Take this man ²  away! Release Barabbas for us!”

So the young men came, ¹  wrapped him up, ²  carried him out, and buried ³  him.

We know ¹  that since Christ has been raised from the dead, he is never going to die ²  again; death no longer has mastery over him.

Then ¹  a second time the crowd shouted, “Hallelujah!” The smoke rises from her forever and ever. ² 

When her master ¹  got up in the morning, opened the doors of the house, and went outside to start on his journey, there was the woman, his concubine, sprawled out on the doorstep of the house with her hands on the threshold.

When the residents of Ashdod got up early the next day, ¹  Dagon was lying on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set him back in his place.

But when they got up early the following day, Dagon was again lying on the ground before the ark of the Lord. The head of Dagon and his two hands were sheared off and were lying at the threshold. Only Dagon’s body was left intact. ¹ 

Then the men of Israel and Judah charged forward, shouting a battle cry. ¹  They chased the Philistines to the valley ²  and to the very gates of Ekron. The Philistine corpses lay fallen along the Shaaraim road to Gath and Ekron.

When the servant had left, David got up from beside the mound, ¹  knelt ²  with his face to the ground, and bowed three times. Then they kissed each other and they both wept, especially David.

Then Ezra got up from in front of the temple of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. While he stayed ¹  there, he did not eat food or drink water, for he was in mourning over the infidelity of the exiles.

When I had made an inspection, ¹  I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the great and awesome Lord, ²  and fight on behalf of your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your families!” ³
