Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lord ¹  descending from heaven came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.

Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will ¹  also forgive you your sins.” ² 

They discussed with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels ¹  in heaven.

Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. ¹ 

“But as for that day or hour no one knows it – neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son ¹  – except the Father.

“I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand ¹  of the Power ²  and coming with the clouds of heaven.” ³ 

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

Rejoice in that day, and jump for joy, because ¹  your reward is great in heaven. For their ancestors ²  did the same things to the prophets. ³ 

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume ¹  them?” ² 

I will get up and go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned ¹  against heaven ²  and against ³  you.

Then ¹  his son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven ²  and against you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ ³ 

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tiny stroke of a letter ¹  in the law to become void. ² 

So ¹  they discussed it with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’

There will be great earthquakes, and famines ¹  and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights ²  and great signs ³  from heaven.

He continued, ¹  “I tell all of you the solemn truth ²  – you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” ³ 

Our ancestors ¹  ate the manna in the wilderness, just as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” ² 

For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.

Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus ¹  began complaining about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,”

This ¹  is the bread that has come down from heaven, so that a person ²  may eat from it and not die.
