My bones stick to my skin and my flesh; ¹  I have escaped ²  alive ³  with only the skin of my teeth.

But ¹  Satan answered the Lord, “Skin for ²  skin! ³  Indeed, a man will give up ⁴  all that he has to save his life! ⁵ 

You clothed ¹  me with skin and flesh and knit me together ²  with bones and sinews.

ב (Bet) He has made my mortal skin ¹  waste away; he has broken my bones.

Our skin is hot as an oven due to a fever from hunger. ¹ 

“When someone’s body has a boil on its skin ¹  and it heals,

It eats away parts of his skin; ¹  the most terrible death ²  devours his limbs.

My skin has turned dark on me; ¹  my body ²  is hot with fever. ³ 

If ¹  it is spreading further ²  on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce him unclean. ³  It is an infection.

If, however, the scall spreads further ¹  on the skin after his purification,

I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, ¹  and buried ²  my horn ³  in the dust;

Because of the anxiety that makes me groan, my bones protrude from my skin. ¹ 

If, however, the disease breaks out ¹  on the skin so that the disease covers all the skin of the person with the infection ²  from his head to his feet, as far as the priest can see, ³ 

the priest is to examine them, ¹  and if ²  the bright spots on the skin of their body are faded white, it is a harmless rash that has broken out on the skin. The person is clean. ³ 

Can you fill its hide with harpoons or its head with fishing spears?

The priest must then examine the infection ¹  on the skin of the body, and if the hair ²  in the infection has turned white and the infection appears to be deeper than the skin of the body, ³  then it is a diseased infection, ⁴  so when the priest examines it ⁵  he must pronounce the person unclean. ⁶ 

The priest must then examine it, ¹  and if ²  the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce the person unclean. ³  It is a disease.

But there is little hope for you ever doing good, you who are so accustomed to doing evil. Can an Ethiopian ¹  change the color of his skin? Can a leopard remove its spots? ²
