“Now the parable means ¹  this: The seed is the word of God.

(Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium.

Then God said, “I now ¹  give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the entire earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. ² 

He ¹  answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.

God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: ¹  plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, ²  and ³  trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” It was so.

“‘If a man consecrates to the Lord some of his own landed property, the conversion value must be calculated in accordance with the amount of seed needed to sow it, ¹  a homer of barley seed being priced at fifty shekels of silver. ² 

Now, if such a carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, ¹  it is clean,

“You will take much seed to the field but gather little harvest, because locusts will consume it.

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.

The land produced vegetation – plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.

Now God ¹  who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your supply of seed and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow.

but if water is put on the seed and such a carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.

You must not plant your vineyard with two kinds of seed; otherwise the entire yield, both of the seed you plant and the produce of the vineyard, will be defiled. ¹ 

“Listen! A sower went out to sow. ¹ 

The house of Israel ¹  called its name “manna.” ²  It was like coriander seed and was white, and it tasted ³  like wafers with honey.

The one who weeps as he walks along, carrying his bag ¹  of seed, will certainly come in with a shout of joy, carrying his sheaves of grain. ² 

Indeed, a large vineyard ¹  will produce just a few gallons, ²  and enough seed to yield several bushels ³  will produce less than a bushel.” ⁴ 

He presented them with another parable: ¹  “The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.

So the slaves ¹  of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’

It is like a mustard seed ¹  that when sown in the ground, even though it is the smallest of all the seeds in the ground –
