What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more ¹  than a prophet.

This is a prayer of Habakkuk the prophet: ¹ 

The following is the message ¹  which God revealed to Habakkuk the prophet: ² 

What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more ¹  than a prophet.

The prophet Hananiah then took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and broke it.

The Lord brought Israel out of Egypt by a prophet, and due to a prophet ¹  Israel ²  was preserved alive. ³ 

(For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) ¹ 

Then the prophet Jeremiah told the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah! The Lord did not send you! You are making these people trust in a lie! ¹ 

Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever ¹  receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

Then the prophet Jeremiah responded to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the Lord’s temple.

But shortly after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, the Lord spoke to Jeremiah.

Just then, ¹  while she was still speaking to the king, Nathan the prophet arrived.

So the young prophet ¹  went to Ramoth Gilead.

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth ¹  in Galilee.”

The woman said to him, “Sir, I see ¹  that you are a prophet.

But this is what was spoken about through the prophet Joel: ¹ 

and was returning home, sitting ¹  in his chariot, reading ²  the prophet Isaiah.

In the seventh month of that very same year ¹  the prophet Hananiah died.

Zephaniah the priest read that letter to the prophet Jeremiah. ¹
