She considers ¹  a field and buys it; from her own income ²  she plants a vineyard.

So neither the one who plants counts for anything, ¹  nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth.

Then ¹  our sons will be like plants, that quickly grow to full size. ²  Our daughters will be like corner pillars, ³  carved like those in a palace. ⁴ 

It will produce thorns and thistles for you, but you will eat the grain ¹  of the field.

Under the lotus trees it lies, in the secrecy of the reeds and the marsh.

Your shoots are a royal garden ¹  full of pomegranates with choice fruits: henna with nard,

When ¹  the plants sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared.

The one who plants and the one who waters work as one, ¹  but each will receive his reward according to his work.

God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: ¹  plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, ²  and ³  trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” It was so.

The land produced vegetation – plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.

You may eat any moving thing that lives. ¹  As I gave you ²  the green plants, I now give ³  you everything.

For they will quickly dry up like grass, and wither away like plants. ¹ 

He provides grass ¹  for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, ²  so they can produce food from the ground, ³ 

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine ¹  in the inner rooms of your house; your children ²  will be like olive branches, as they sit all around your table.

For you ignore ¹  the God who rescues you; you pay no attention to your strong protector. ²  So this is what happens: You cultivate beautiful plants and plant exotic vines. ³ 

He cuts down cedars and acquires a cypress ¹  or an oak. He gets ²  trees from the forest; he plants a cedar ³  and the rain makes it grow.

Who ever serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not consume its milk?

when it is sown, it grows up, ¹  becomes the greatest of all garden plants, and grows large branches so that the wild birds ²  can nest in its shade.” ³
