Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

So King Darius issued the written interdict.

“O that ¹  my words were written down, O that they were written on a scroll, ² 

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

The report they sent to him was written as follows: ¹  “To King Darius: All greetings! ² 

Then I say, “Look! I come! What is written in the scroll pertains to me. ¹ 

For God is king of the whole earth! Sing a well-written song! ¹ 

Have I not written thirty sayings ¹  for you, sayings ²  of counsel and knowledge,

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’ ¹ 

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?” ¹ 

because these are days of vengeance, ¹  to fulfill ²  all that is written.

His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal ¹  for your house will devour me.” ² 

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹ 

Jesus answered, ¹  “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’? ² 

Jesus found a young donkey ¹  and sat on it, just as it is written,

The ¹  words of the prophets agree ²  with this, as it is written,

just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one,

just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” ¹
