The worthless idols will be completely eliminated. ¹ 

A worthless and wicked person ¹  walks around saying perverse ²  things; ³ 

“It’s worthless! It’s worthless!” ¹  says the buyer, ²  but when he goes on his way, he boasts. ³ 

For all the gods of the nations are worthless, ¹  but the Lord made the heavens. ² 

But you, however, are inventors of lies; ¹  all of you are worthless physicians! ² 

Let him not trust in what is worthless, ¹  deceiving himself; for worthlessness will be his reward. ² 

who says to a king, ¹  ‘Worthless man’ ²  and to nobles, ‘Wicked men,’

I hate those who serve worthless idols, ¹  but I trust in the Lord.

For all the gods of the nations are worthless, ¹  but the Lord made the sky.

Turn my eyes away from what is worthless! ¹  Revive me with your word! ² 

Who forms a god and casts an idol that will prove worthless? ¹ 

Ephraim will be oppressed, ¹  crushed ²  under judgment, ³  because he was determined to pursue worthless idols. ⁴ 

Those who worship ¹  worthless idols ²  forfeit the mercy that could be theirs. ³ 

This is what the Lord says: “What fault could your ancestors ¹  have possibly found in me that they strayed so far from me? ²  They paid allegiance to ³  worthless idols, and so became worthless to me. ⁴ 

נ (Nun) Your prophets saw visions for you that were worthless lies. ¹  They failed to expose your sin so as to restore your fortunes. ²  They saw oracles for you that were worthless ³  lies.

I am forgotten, like a dead man no one thinks about; ¹  I am regarded as worthless, like a broken jar. ² 

All who worship idols are ashamed, those who boast about worthless idols. All the gods bow down before him. ¹ 

The people of those nations ¹  are both stupid and foolish. Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless! ² 

They are worthless, mere objects to be mocked. ¹  When the time comes to punish them, they will be destroyed.
