So the anger of the Lord was kindled that day, and he swore,

They swore their allegiance to the Lord, shouting their approval loudly and sounding trumpets and horns. ¹ 

That is why he named that place ¹  Beer Sheba, ²  because the two of them swore ³  an oath there.

We must let them live so we can escape the curse attached to the oath we swore to them.” ¹

But Saul swore an oath to her by the Lord, “As surely as the Lord lives, you will not incur guilt in this matter!”

I will bring you to the land I swore to give ¹  to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob – and I will give it to you ²  as a possession. I am the Lord!’”
