It was he ¹  who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, ² 

But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.

When ¹  they saw him, they worshiped him, ²  but some doubted. ³ 

Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: ¹

For some have already wandered away to follow Satan. ¹

Then some of the experts in the law ¹  along with some Pharisees ²  answered him, ³  “Teacher, we want to see a sign ⁴  from you.”

So then some were shouting one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had met together. ¹ 

and the rest were to follow, ¹  some on planks ²  and some on pieces of the ship. ³  And in this way ⁴  all were brought safely to land.

A ¹  large herd of pigs was feeding some distance from them.

Then ¹  some of the experts in the law ²  said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming!” ³ 

Then they spat in his face and struck him with their fists. And some slapped him,

When ¹  some of the bystanders heard it, they said, “This man is calling for Elijah.”

Some people ¹  came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. ² 

So they went away by themselves in a boat to some remote place.

Some people standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”

Then ¹  they sent some of the Pharisees ²  and Herodians ³  to trap him with his own words. ⁴
