In regard to the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but in regard to election they are dearly loved for the sake of the fathers.

For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.” ¹

The ¹  whole imperial guard ²  and everyone else knows ³  that I am in prison ⁴  for the sake of Christ,

He was foreknown ¹  before the foundation of the world but ²  was manifested in these last times ³  for your sake.

Be subject to every human institution ¹  for the Lord’s sake, whether to a king as supreme

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the gospel will save it.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, ¹  but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

and I am glad ¹  for your sake that I was not there, so that you may believe. ²  But let us go to him.”

So they left the council rejoicing because they had been considered worthy ¹  to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name. ² 

but also for our sake, to whom it will be credited, those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
