Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:

This fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet: ¹ 

What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more ¹  than a prophet.

Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever ¹  receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

so that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled: ¹ 

This ¹  took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: ² 

And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth ¹  in Galilee.”

And he added, ¹  “I tell you the truth, ²  no prophet is acceptable ³  in his hometown.

The woman said to him, “Sir, I see ¹  that you are a prophet.

(For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) ¹ 

But this is what was spoken about through the prophet Joel: ¹ 

and was returning home, sitting ¹  in his chariot, reading ²  the prophet Isaiah.

This all happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled:

In this way what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet was fulfilled: ¹  “He took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.” ² 

Although ¹  Herod ²  wanted to kill John, ³  he feared the crowd because they accepted John as a prophet.

But if we say, ‘From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”

They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds ¹  regarded him as a prophet.

Others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.”
