Honor ¹  widows who are truly in need. ² 

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you,” nor in turn can the head say to the foot, “I do not need you.”

At the present time, your abundance will meet their need, ¹  so that one day their abundance may also meet your need, and thus there may be equality,

I do not need to take ¹  a bull from your household or goats from your sheepfolds.

You need not fear the terrors of the night, ¹  the arrow that flies by day,

Do not withhold good from those who need it, ¹  when ²  you ³  have the ability ⁴  to help. ⁵ 

and your poverty will come like a robber, ¹  and your need like an armed man. ² 

and your poverty will come like a bandit, and your need like an armed robber.” ¹ 

Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

For the unconverted ¹  pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

But he ¹  replied, “They don’t need to go. You ²  give them something to eat.”

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “Why do we still need witnesses?

He did not need anyone to testify about man, ¹  for he knew what was in man. ² 

For even in Thessalonica ¹  on more than one occasion ²  you sent something for my need.

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches ¹  in Christ Jesus.

In this way you will live ¹  a decent life before outsiders and not be in need. ² 

The priests should receive the silver they need from the treasurers and repair any damage to the temple they discover.” ¹ 

So the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the items used in its service.”

You will laugh at destruction and famine ¹  and need not ²  be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

The trees of the Lord ¹  receive all the rain they need, ²  the cedars of Lebanon which he planted,
