We love ¹  because he loved us first.

Isaac loved Esau because he had a taste for fresh game, ¹  but Rebekah loved ²  Jacob.

“Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain ¹  in my love.

(Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.) ¹ 

Therefore, be ¹  imitators of God as dearly loved children
