They lost their appetite for all food, ¹  and they drew near the gates of death.

Go ¹  instead to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

So ¹  he answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

For the Son of Man came ¹  to seek and to save the lost.”

Have mercy on me, for I am in distress! My eyes grow dim ¹  from suffering. ²  I have lost my strength. ³ 

I have wandered off like a lost sheep. ¹  Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands.

Then that wealth was lost through bad luck; ¹  although he fathered a son, he has nothing left to give him. ² 

So I said, “My endurance has expired; I have lost all hope of deliverance ¹  from the Lord.”

א (Alef) ¹ Alas! ²  Gold has lost its luster; ³  pure gold loses value. ⁴  Jewels ⁵  are scattered on every street corner. ⁶ 

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.

But Paul replied, ¹  “I have not lost my mind, most excellent Festus, ²  but am speaking ³  true and rational ⁴  words.

or has found something lost and denies it and swears falsely ¹  concerning any one of the things that someone might do to sin ²  –

Why should the name of our father be lost from among his family because he had no son? Give us a possession ¹  among the relatives ²  of our father.”

You shall do the same to his donkey, his clothes, or anything else your neighbor ¹  has lost and you have found; you must not refuse to get involved. ² 

So the Lord ¹  restored what Job had lost ²  after he prayed for his friends, ³  and the Lord doubled ⁴  all that had belonged to Job.

A time to search, and a time to give something up as lost; ¹  a time to keep, and a time to throw away;

“‘When she realized that she waited in vain, her hope was lost. She took another of her cubs ¹  and made him a young lion.

Returning ¹  home, he calls together ²  his ³  friends and neighbors, telling them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost.’

Then ¹  when she has found it, she calls together her ²  friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice ³  with me, for I have found the coin ⁴  that I had lost.’

because this son of mine was dead, and is alive again – he was lost and is found!’ ¹  So ²  they began to celebrate.
