The discerning person ¹  acquires knowledge, and the wise person ²  seeks ³  knowledge.

“Who is this ¹  who darkens counsel ²  with words without knowledge?

The shrewd person ¹  conceals ²  knowledge, but foolish people ³  publicize folly. ⁴ 

“Does a wise man answer with blustery knowledge, ¹  or fill his belly ²  with the east wind? ³ 

Can anyone teach ¹  God knowledge, since ²  he judges those that are on high? ³ 

My words come from the uprightness of my heart, ¹  and my lips will utter knowledge sincerely. ² 

that ¹  Job speaks without knowledge and his words are without understanding. ² 

So Job opens his mouth to no purpose; ¹  without knowledge he multiplies words.”

With my knowledge I will speak comprehensively, ¹  and to my Creator I will ascribe righteousness. ² 

“Yes, God is great – beyond our knowledge! ¹  The number of his years is unsearchable.

Fearing the Lord ¹  is the beginning ²  of moral knowledge, ³  but ⁴  fools ⁵  despise ⁶  wisdom and instruction. ⁷ 

Because ¹  they hated moral knowledge, ²  and did not choose to fear the Lord, ³ 

then you will understand ¹  how to fear the Lord, ²  and you will discover ³  knowledge ⁴  about God. ⁵ 

For ¹  the Lord gives ²  wisdom, and from his mouth ³  comes ⁴  knowledge and understanding.

For wisdom will enter your heart, ¹  and moral knowledge ²  will be attractive ³  to you. ⁴ 

By his knowledge the primordial sea ¹  was broken open, ²  and the clouds drip down dew. ³ 

in order to safeguard ¹  discretion, ²  and that your lips may guard knowledge.

All of them are clear ¹  to the discerning and upright to those who find knowledge.

Receive my instruction ¹  rather than ²  silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.

“I, wisdom, live with prudence, ¹  and I find ²  knowledge and discretion.
