but he holds his priesthood permanently since he lives forever.

But the righteous man holds to his way, and the one with clean hands grows stronger. ¹ 

Even if ¹  he trips, he will not fall headlong, ²  for the Lord holds ³  his hand.

The wise inherit honor, but he holds fools up ¹  to public contempt. ² 

If he holds back the waters, then they dry up; ¹  if he releases them, ²  they destroy ³  the land.

if he retains it for himself and does not let it go, and holds it fast in his mouth, ¹ 

Even a fool who remains silent is considered ¹  wise, and the one who holds his tongue is deemed discerning. ² 

And so ¹  you know what holds him back, ²  so that he will be revealed in his own time.

Yet he is compassionate. He forgives sin and does not destroy. He often holds back his anger, and does not stir up his fury. ¹
