He turned their water into blood, and killed their fish.

So ¹  they gave him a piece of broiled fish,

What father among you, if your ¹  son asks for ²  a fish, will give him a snake ³  instead of a fish?

(2:1) ¹ The Lord sent ²  a huge ³  fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights.

anything that crawls ¹  on the ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth. ² 

Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the stomach of the fish

Then the Lord commanded ¹  the fish and it disgorged Jonah on dry land.

Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? ¹ 

They ¹  said to him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”

and they picked up the broken pieces and fish that were left over, twelve baskets full.

When ¹  they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. ² 

Jesus said, ¹  “Bring some of the fish you have just now caught.”

I will put hooks in your jaws and stick the fish of your waterways to your scales. I will haul you up from the midst of your waterways, and all the fish of your waterways will stick to your scales.

Fishermen will stand beside it; from Engedi to En-eglaim they will spread nets. They will catch many kinds of fish, like the fish of the Great Sea. ¹ 

He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He ¹  gave them to his ²  disciples to serve the people, and he divided the two fish among them all.

Or speak ¹  to the earth ²  and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea declare to you.

the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents ¹  of the seas.

You made people like fish in the sea, like animals in the sea ¹  that have no ruler.

Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven – and a few small fish.”

They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well.
