So we worked on, ¹  with half ²  holding spears, from dawn till dusk. ³ 

Have you ever in your life ¹  commanded the morning, or made the dawn know ²  its place,

Its snorting throws out flashes of light; its eyes are like the red glow ¹  of dawn.

God lives within it, ¹  it cannot be moved. ²  God rescues it ³  at the break of dawn. ⁴

Stay alert, then, because you do not know when the owner of the house will return – whether during evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or at dawn –

Now on the first day ¹  of the week, at early dawn, the women ²  went to the tomb, taking the aromatic spices ³  they had prepared.
