“When someone’s body has a boil on its skin ¹  and it heals,

My body ¹  is clothed ²  with worms ³  and dirty scabs; ⁴  my skin is broken ⁵  and festering.

For, when I think ¹  about this, I am terrified ²  and my body feels a shudder. ³ 

his body ¹  well nourished, ²  and the marrow of his bones moist. ³ 

My skin has turned dark on me; ¹  my body ²  is hot with fever. ³ 

For I am overcome with shame ¹  and my whole body is sick. ² 

My body ¹  trembles ²  because I fear you; ³  I am afraid of your judgments.

This will bring ¹  healing to your body, ²  and refreshment ³  to your inner self. ⁴ 

A tranquil spirit ¹  revives the body, ²  but envy ³  is rottenness to the bones. ⁴ 

A bright look ¹  brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the body. ² 

And whoever touches the body of someone killed with a sword in the open fields, ¹  or the body of someone who died of natural causes, ²  or a human bone, or a grave, will be unclean seven days. ³ 

“When a man or a woman has bright spots – white bright spots – on the skin of their body,

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When any man ¹  has a discharge ²  from his body, ³  his discharge is unclean.

“‘When a man has a seminal emission, ¹  he must bathe his whole body in water ²  and be unclean until evening,

You must not slash your body for a dead person ¹  or incise a tattoo on yourself. ²  I am the Lord.

“‘All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he must not contact ¹  a dead body. ² 

When I refused to confess my sin, ¹  my whole body wasted away, ²  while I groaned in pain all day long.

My whole body is sick because of your judgment; ¹  I am deprived of health because of my sin. ² 

for they are life to those who find them and healing to one’s entire body. ¹
