The one who is lazy ¹  becomes poor, ²  but the one who works diligently ³  becomes wealthy. ⁴ 

or a man who touches a swarming thing by which he becomes unclean, ¹  or touches a person ²  by which he becomes unclean, whatever that person’s impurity ³  –

his food is turned sour ¹  in his stomach; ²  it becomes the venom of serpents ³  within him.

Their grave becomes their permanent residence, their eternal dwelling place. ¹  They name their lands after themselves, ² 

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich ¹  and his wealth multiplies! ² 

under a servant ¹  who becomes king, under a fool who is stuffed with food, ² 

and if jealous feelings ¹  come over him and he becomes suspicious ²  of his wife, when she is defiled; ³  or if jealous feelings come over him and he becomes suspicious of his wife, when she is not defiled –

when an individual becomes guilty with regard to one of these things ¹  he must confess how he has sinned, ² 

When a scorner is punished, the naive ¹  becomes wise; when a wise person is instructed, ²  he gains knowledge.

The fear of people ¹  becomes ²  a snare, ³  but whoever trusts in the Lord will be set on high. ⁴ 

For when it is time to eat, everyone proceeds with his own supper. One is hungry and another becomes drunk.

the assembly must present a young bull for a sin offering when the sin they have committed ¹  becomes known. They must bring it before the Meeting Tent,

Any food that may be eaten which becomes soaked with water ¹  will become unclean. Anything drinkable ²  in any such vessel will become unclean. ³ 

“When a body has a burn on its skin ¹  and the raw area of the burn becomes a reddish white or white bright spot,

“‘If ¹  she becomes clean from her discharge, then she is to count off for herself seven days, and afterward she will be clean.

This is the law of the one with a discharge: the one who has a seminal emission ¹  and becomes unclean by it, ² 

“‘If your brother becomes impoverished and sells some of his property, his near redeemer is to come to you and redeem what his brother sold. ¹ 

“‘If your brother ¹  becomes impoverished and is indebted to you, ²  you must support ³  him; he must live ⁴  with you like a foreign resident. ⁵ 

“‘If your brother becomes impoverished with regard to you so that he sells himself to you, you must not subject him to slave service. ¹ 

“Command the Israelites to expel ¹  from the camp every leper, ²  everyone who has a discharge, ³  and whoever becomes defiled by a corpse. ⁴
