For he has been thrown into a net by his feet ¹  and he wanders into a mesh. ² 

Surely it is futile to spread ¹  a net in plain sight of ²  any bird, ³ 

The one ¹  who flatters ²  his neighbor spreads a net ³  for his steps. ⁴ 

“‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: “‘I will throw my net over you ¹  in the assembly of many peoples; and they will haul you up in my dragnet.

So Simon Peter went aboard and pulled the net to shore. It was ¹  full of large fish, one hundred fifty-three, ²  but although there were so many, the net was not torn.

Because of his success ¹  he offers sacrifices to his throw net and burns incense to his dragnet; ²  for because of them he has plenty of food, ³  and more than enough to eat. ⁴ 

You led us into a trap; ¹  you caused us to suffer. ² 

know ¹  then that God has wronged me ²  and encircled ³  me with his net. ⁴ 

I did not harm them, but they hid a net to catch me and dug a pit to trap me. ¹ 

Will he then ¹  continue to fill and empty his throw net? ²  Will he always ³  destroy ⁴  nations and spare none? ⁵ 

As he went along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen). ¹ 

Meanwhile the other disciples came with the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, only about a hundred yards. ¹ 

I continually look to the Lord for help, ¹  for he will free my feet from the enemy’s net. ² 

You will free me ¹  from the net they hid for me, for you are my place of refuge.

He told them, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” ¹  So they threw the net, ²  and were not able to pull it in because of the large number of fish.

The nations fell ¹  into the pit they had made; their feet were caught in the net they had hidden. ² 

The Babylonian tyrant ¹  pulls them all up with a fishhook; he hauls them in with his throw net. ²  When he catches ³  them in his dragnet, he is very happy. ⁴ 

Proud men hide a snare for me; evil men ¹  spread a net by the path; they set traps for me. (Selah)

The nations – the surrounding regions – attacked him. They threw their net over him; he was caught in their pit.

I will throw my bird net over them while they are flying, I will bring them down like birds in the sky; I will discipline them when I hear them flocking together.
