They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see,

They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see,

They ¹  open their mouths to devour me ²  like a roaring lion that rips its prey. ³ 

They were not yet filled up, ¹  their food was still in their mouths,

פ (Pe) All our enemies have gloated over us; ¹ 

“Their mouths are ¹  full of cursing and bitterness.” ² 

Through faith they conquered kingdoms, administered justice, ¹  gained what was promised, ²  shut the mouths of lions,

the chief men refrained from talking and covered their mouths with their hands;

They are calloused; ¹  they speak arrogantly. ² 

who speak lies, and make false promises. ¹ 

A third of humanity was killed by these three plagues, that is, ¹  by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur that came out of their mouths.

And if we put bits into the mouths of horses to get them to obey us, then we guide their entire bodies. ¹ 

O God, break the teeth in their mouths! Smash the jawbones of the lions, O Lord!

and ears, but cannot hear. Indeed, they cannot breathe. ¹ 

My God sent his angel and closed the lions’ mouths so that they have not harmed me, because I was found to be innocent before him. Nor have I done any harm to you, O king.”

They speak as if they rule in heaven, and lay claim to the earth. ¹ 

But they deceived him with their words, ¹  and lied to him. ² 

People ¹  have opened their mouths against me, they have struck my cheek in scorn; ²  they unite ³  together against me.

the voices of the nobles fell silent, ¹  and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.

They waited for me as people wait ¹  for the rain, and they opened their mouths ²  as for ³  the spring rains.
