At ¹  three times in the year all your males will appear before the Lord God. ² 

Those of them who were numbered, counting every male from a month old and upward, were 6,200.

Those of them who were numbered, counting every male from a month old and upward, were 7,500.

Counting every male from a month old and upward, there were 8,600. They were responsible for the care ¹  of the sanctuary.

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names from a month old and upward, totaled 22,273.

from the descendants of Pahath-Moab, Eliehoenai son of Zerahiah, and with him 200 men;

from the descendants of Zattu, ¹  Shecaniah son of Jahaziel, and with him 300 men;

from the descendants of Adin, Ebed son of Jonathan, and with him 50 men;

from the descendants of Elam, Jeshaiah son of Athaliah, and with him 70 men;

from the descendants of Shephatiah, Zebadiah son of Michael, and with him 80 men;

from the descendants of Bani, ¹  Shelomith son of Josiphiah, and with him 160 men;

from the descendants of Bebai, Zechariah son of Bebai, and with him 28 men;

from the descendants of Bigvai, Uthai, and Zaccur, ¹  and with them ²  70 men.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Number all the firstborn males of the Israelites from a month old and upward, and take ¹  the number of their names.

They made disbursements to all the males three years old and up who were listed in the genealogical records – to all who would enter the Lord’s temple to serve on a daily basis and fulfill their duties as assigned to their divisions. ¹ 

At three times ¹  in the year all your men ²  must appear before the Lord God, ³  the God of Israel.

the son of Shecaniah; ¹  from the descendants of Parosh, Zechariah, and with him were enrolled by genealogy 150 men;

from the descendants of Joab, Obadiah son of Jehiel, and with him 218 men;

from the descendants of Azgad, Johanan son of Hakkatan, and with him 110 men;

then you must give over ¹  to the Lord the first offspring of every womb. ²  Every firstling ³  of a beast that you have ⁴  – the males will be the Lord’s. ⁵
