May he show ¹  the humble what is right! ²  May he teach ³  the humble his way!

Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.

Although ¹  he is scornful to arrogant scoffers, ²  yet ³  he shows favor to the humble. ⁴ 

(Now the man Moses was very humble, ¹  more so than any man on the face of the earth.)

And God will exalt you in due time, ¹  if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand ² 

Finally, all of you be harmonious, ¹  sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble.

For you deliver oppressed ¹  people, but you bring down those who have a proud look. ² 

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them. ¹ 

But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.” ¹ 

The oppressed look on – let them rejoice! You who seek God, ¹  may you be encouraged! ² 

The Lord lifts up the oppressed, but knocks ¹  the wicked to the ground.

When pride ¹  comes, ²  then comes disgrace, ³  but with humility ⁴  comes ⁵  wisdom.

When people are brought low ¹  and you say ‘Lift them up!’ ²  then he will save the downcast; ³ 

I will boast ¹  in the Lord; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! ² 

He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father Manasseh had done. ¹  Amon was guilty of great sin. ² 

He did evil in the sight of ¹  the Lord his God. He did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet, the Lord’s spokesman.

Rise up, Lord! ¹  O God, strike him down! ²  Do not forget the oppressed!

A person’s pride ¹  will bring him low, ²  but one who has a lowly spirit ³  will gain honor.

Now the believer ¹  of humble means ²  should take pride ³  in his high position. ⁴ 

I will leave in your midst a humble and meek group of people, ¹  and they will find safety in the Lord’s presence. ²
