When Moses heard this explanation, he was satisfied. ¹ 

Can anyone catch it by its eyes, ¹  or pierce its nose with a snare? ² 

he winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, and points with his fingers; ¹ 

The sluggard is wiser in his own estimation ¹  than seven people who respond with good sense. ² 

There is a generation who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not washed ¹  from their filthiness. ² 

If God places no trust in his holy ones, ¹  if even the heavens ²  are not pure in his eyes,

The appetite ¹  of the wicked desires ²  evil; his neighbor is shown no favor ³  in his eyes.

lest the Lord see it, and be displeased, ¹  and turn his wrath away from him. ² 

Answer a fool according to his folly, ¹  lest he be wise in his own estimation. ² 

Do you see ¹  a man wise in his own eyes? ²  There is more hope for a fool ³  than for him.

A rich person ¹  is wise in his own eyes, ²  but a discerning poor person can evaluate him properly. ³ 

My father may touch me! Then he’ll think I’m mocking him ¹  and I’ll bring a curse on myself instead of a blessing.”

So Jacob worked for seven years to acquire Rachel. ¹  But they seemed like only a few days to him ²  because his love for her was so great. ³
