He added, “Just name your wages – I’ll pay whatever you want.” ¹ 

Then I will confirm my covenant ¹  between me and you, and I will give you a multitude of descendants.” ² 

You know that I’ve worked for your father as hard as I could, ¹ 

Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, ¹  the ends of the earth as your personal property.

I wear sackcloth and they ridicule me. ¹ 

So I defiled your holy princes, and handed Jacob over to destruction, and subjected ¹  Israel to humiliating abuse.”

Then Joseph said, “If your money is gone, bring your livestock, and I will give you food ¹  in exchange for ²  your livestock.”

The king then said to the prophet, “Come home with me and have something to eat. I’d like to give a present.”

Certainly ¹  you do not want a sacrifice, or else I would offer it; ²  you do not desire a burnt sacrifice. ³ 

I adorned you with jewelry. I put bracelets on your hands and a necklace around your neck.

So I turned my attention ¹  to the Lord God ²  to implore him by prayer and requests, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. ³ 

I gave you your master’s house, and put your master’s wives into your arms. ¹  I also gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if all that somehow seems insignificant, I would have given you so much more as well!

You can make the bride price and the gift I must bring very expensive, ¹  and I’ll give ²  whatever you ask ³  of me. Just give me the young woman as my wife!”

Get your father and your households and come to me! Then I will give you ¹  the best land in Egypt and you will eat ²  the best ³  of the land.’

And from there they traveled ¹  to Beer; ²  that is the well where the Lord spoke to Moses, “Gather the people and I will give them water.”

I rescued you from Egypt’s power ¹  and from the power of all who oppressed you. I drove them out before you and gave their land to you.
