This is the service of the families of Gershonites, as they serve ¹  and carry it.

Obed-Edom was assigned the south gate, and his sons were assigned the storehouses.

He sent a man ahead of them ¹  – Joseph was sold as a servant.

Will it make a pact ¹  with you, so you could take it ²  as your slave for life?

when the nations gather together, and the kingdoms pay tribute to the Lord. ¹ 

The king shows favor ¹  to a wise ²  servant, but his wrath falls ³  on one who acts shamefully.

So the Lord God expelled him ¹  from the orchard in Eden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken.

The people responded, “Far be it from us to abandon the Lord so we can ¹  worship ²  other gods!

So Achish trusted David, thinking to himself, ¹  “He is really hated ²  among his own people in ³  Israel! From now on ⁴  he will be my servant.”

Luxury is not appropriate ¹  for a fool; ²  how much less for a servant to rule over princes! ³ 

They are responsible for his needs ¹  and the needs of the whole community before the tent of meeting, by attending ²  to the service of the tabernacle.

And they are responsible for all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, and for the needs of the Israelites, as they serve ¹  in the tabernacle.

You must number them from thirty years old and upward to fifty years old, all who enter the company to do the work of the tent of meeting.

from thirty years old and upward to fifty years old, everyone who entered to do the work of service and the work of carrying ¹  relating to the tent of meeting –

“Receive these gifts ¹  from them, that they may be ²  used in doing the work ³  of the tent of meeting; and you must give them to the Levites, to every man ⁴  as his service requires.” ⁵ 

and Aaron is to offer ¹  the Levites before the Lord as a wave offering from the Israelites, that they may do the work ²  of the Lord.

“After this, the Levites will go in ¹  to do the work ²  of the tent of meeting. So you must cleanse them ³  and offer them like a wave offering. ⁴ 

I myself have chosen ¹  your brothers the Levites from among the Israelites. They are given to you as a gift from the Lord, to perform the duties ²  of the tent of meeting.

Joshua said to the people, “Do you agree to be witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to worship the Lord?” ¹  They replied, “We are witnesses!” ²
