Abram settled in the land of Canaan, but Lot settled among the cities of the Jordan plain ¹  and pitched his tents next to Sodom.

Furthermore, Solomon has assumed the royal throne. ¹ 

As for you, the one who lives ²  in the shelter of the sovereign One, ³  and resides in the protective shadow ⁴  of the mighty king ⁵  –

י (Yod) Let a person ¹  sit alone in silence, when the Lord ²  is disciplining him. ³ 

Now when the young women were being gathered again, ¹  Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate. ² 

Although you were a powerful man, ¹  owning land, ²  an honored man ³  living on it, ⁴ 

But the Lord ¹  rules ²  forever; he reigns in a just manner. ³ 

Sing praises to the Lord, who rules ¹  in Zion! Tell the nations what he has done! ² 

He ¹  is like a lion ²  that wants to tear its prey to bits, ³  like a young lion crouching ⁴  in hidden places.

The Lord sits enthroned over the engulfing waters, ¹  the Lord sits enthroned ²  as the eternal king.

May their camp become desolate, their tents uninhabited! ¹ 

Do not let the afflicted be turned back in shame! Let the oppressed and poor praise your name! ¹ 

The Lord reigns! The nations tremble. ²  He sits enthroned above the winged angels; ³  the earth shakes. ⁴ 

Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die. ¹ 

He then orders it all to melt; ¹  he breathes on it, ²  and the water flows.

He repeatedly ¹  attacks me, he turns his hand ²  against me all day long. ³ 

Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the first ¹  of those who live in tents and keep ²  livestock.

They also took Abram’s nephew ¹  Lot and his possessions when ²  they left, for Lot ³  was living in Sodom. ⁴ 

The Lord appeared to Abraham ¹  by the oaks ²  of Mamre while ³  he was sitting at the entrance ⁴  to his tent during the hottest time of the day.

“So now, please let your servant remain as my lord’s slave instead of the boy. As for the boy, let him go back with his brothers.
