“Then he is to offer up the fat of the sin offering ¹  in smoke on the altar,

his body ¹  well nourished, ²  and the marrow of his bones moist. ³ 

He ¹  brings peace to your territory. ²  He abundantly provides for you ³  the best grain.

“All the best of the olive oil and all the best of the wine and of the wheat, the first fruits of these things that they give to the Lord, I have given to you. ¹ 

He asked for water, and she gave him milk; in a bowl fit for a king, ¹  she served him curds.

And there will be enough goat’s milk for your food, ¹  for the food of your household, and for the sustenance ²  of your servant girls.

“You must not offer ¹  the blood of my sacrifice with bread containing yeast; the fat of my festal sacrifice must not remain until morning. ² 

Then the priest must offer them up in smoke on the altar as a food gift for a soothing aroma – all the fat belongs to the Lord.

This is ¹  a perpetual statute throughout your generations ²  in all the places where you live: You must never eat any fat or any blood.’” ³

“‘Then he must take up all the fat from the sin offering bull: ¹  the fat covering the entrails ²  and all the fat surrounding the entrails, ³ 

If anyone eats fat from the animal from which he presents a gift to the Lord, that person will be cut off from his people. ¹
