and more cedar logs than could be counted. (The Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large amount of cedar logs to David.)

the cedars are the beams of our bedroom chamber; the pines are the rafters of our bedroom.

you mountains and all you hills, you fruit trees and all you cedars,

So Hiram supplied the cedars and evergreens Solomon needed, ¹ 

He built the inner courtyard with three rows of chiseled stones and a row of cedar beams.

The Lord’s shout breaks ¹  the cedars, the Lord shatters ²  the cedars of Lebanon. ³ 

He named ¹  it “The Palace of the Lebanon Forest”; ²  it was 150 feet ³  long, 75 feet ⁴  wide, and 45 feet ⁵  high. It had four rows of cedar pillars and cedar beams above the pillars.

King Hiram of Tyre ¹  sent messengers to David, along with cedar logs, carpenters, and stonemasons. They built a palace ²  for David.

The king said to Nathan the prophet, “Look! I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of God sits in the middle of a tent.”

He built an extension all around the temple; it was seven and a half feet high ¹  and it was attached to the temple by cedar beams.

He built a wall 30 feet in from the rear of the temple as a partition for an inner sanctuary that would be the most holy place. ¹  He paneled the wall with cedar planks from the floor to the rafters. ² 

Around the great courtyard were three rows of chiseled stones and one row of cedar beams, like the inner courtyard of the Lord’s temple and the hall of the palace. ¹ 

King Hiram of Tyre ¹  sent messengers to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, ²  and carpenters to build a palace for him.

He cuts down cedars and acquires a cypress ¹  or an oak. He gets ²  trees from the forest; he plants a cedar ³  and the rain makes it grow.

For Israel’s sake I destroyed the Amorites. ¹  They were as tall as cedars ²  and as strong as oaks, but I destroyed the fruit on their branches ³  and their roots in the ground. ⁴ 

Wherever I moved among all the Israelites, I did not say ¹  to any of the leaders ²  whom I appointed to care for ³  my people Israel, “Why have you not built me a house made from cedar?”’

So now order some cedars of Lebanon to be cut for me. My servants will work with your servants. I will pay your servants whatever you say is appropriate, for you know that we have no one among us who knows how to cut down trees like the Sidonians.”

Hiram then sent this message to Solomon: “I received ¹  the message you sent to me. I will give you all the cedars and evergreens you need. ² 

He constructed the walls inside the temple with cedar planks; he paneled the inside with wood from the floor of the temple to the rafters ¹  of the ceiling. He covered the temple floor with boards made from the wood of evergreens.

King Solomon gave King Hiram of Tyre ¹  twenty cities in the region of Galilee, because Hiram had supplied Solomon with cedars, evergreens, and all the gold he wanted.
