If you lay your hand on it, you will remember ¹  the fight, and you will never do it again!

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  Sidon ²  and prophesy against it.

“Surely you know ¹  that it has been from old, ever since humankind was placed ²  on the earth,

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them:

“As for you, son of man, turn toward ¹  the daughters of your people who are prophesying from their imagination. ²  Prophesy against them

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  the Ammonites ²  and prophesy against them.

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  Mount Seir, ²  and prophesy against it.

Even if you were to soar high like an eagle, ¹  even if you ²  were to make your nest among the stars, I can bring you down even from there!” says the Lord.

Abraham said to his servant, the senior one ¹  in his household who was in charge of everything he had, “Put your hand under my thigh ² 

When you searched through all my goods, did you find anything that belonged to you? ¹  Set it here before my relatives and yours, ²  and let them settle the dispute between the two of us! ³

So I gave orders, ¹  and it was determined ²  that this city from long ago has been engaging in insurrection against kings. It has continually engaged in ³  rebellion and revolt.

I have now issued a decree ¹  that anyone in my kingdom from the people of Israel – even the priests and Levites – who wishes to do so may go up with you to Jerusalem. ² 

“Find Jeremiah ¹  and look out for him. ²  Do not do anything to harm him, ³  but do with him whatever he tells you.”

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  the south, ²  and speak out against the south. ³  Prophesy against the open scrub ⁴  land of the Negev,

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  Jerusalem ²  and speak out against the sanctuaries. Prophesy against the land of Israel

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
