Awake, O stringed instrument and harp! I will wake up at dawn! ¹ 

If I were to fly away ¹  on the wings of the dawn, ²  and settle down on the other side ³  of the sea,

Have you ever in your life ¹  commanded the morning, or made the dawn know ²  its place,

Its snorting throws out flashes of light; its eyes are like the red glow ¹  of dawn.

Awake, my soul! ¹  Awake, O stringed instrument and harp! I will wake up at dawn! ² 

So Jacob was left alone. Then a man ¹  wrestled ²  with him until daybreak. ³ 

Then the man ¹  said, “Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.” ²  “I will not let you go,” Jacob replied, ³  “unless you bless me.” ⁴ 

So we worked on, ¹  with half ²  holding spears, from dawn till dusk. ³ 

Let its morning stars ¹  be darkened; let it wait ²  for daylight but find none, ³  nor let it see the first rays ⁴  of dawn,

“Who ¹  is this who appears ²  like the dawn? ³  Beautiful as the moon, ⁴  bright ⁵  as the sun, awe-inspiring ⁶  as the stars in procession?” ⁷ 

Then you must recall the Lord’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. ¹  Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened. ² 

Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, son of the dawn! ¹  You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror ²  of the nations! ³ 

So God sent ¹  a worm at dawn the next day, and it attacked the little plant so that it dried up.

On the seventh day they were up at the crack of dawn ¹  and marched around the city as before – only this time they marched around it seven times. ² 

For the music director; according to the tune “Morning Doe;” ²  a psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? ³  I groan in prayer, but help seems far away. ⁴ 

Disaster will overtake you; you will not know how to charm it away. ¹  Destruction will fall on you; you will not be able to appease it. Calamity will strike you suddenly, before you recognize it. ² 

Then your light will shine like the sunrise; ¹  your restoration will quickly arrive; ²  your godly behavior ³  will go before you, and the Lord’s splendor will be your rear guard. ⁴ 

So let us acknowledge him! ¹  Let us seek ²  to acknowledge ³  the Lord! He will come to our rescue as certainly as the appearance of the dawn, as certainly as the winter rain comes, as certainly as the spring rain that waters the land.”

So will it happen to you, O Bethel, ¹  because of your great wickedness! When that day dawns, ²  the king of Israel will be destroyed. ³ 

At dawn ¹  the angels hurried Lot along, saying, “Get going! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, ²  or else you will be destroyed when the city is judged!” ³
